Andrew NugentA former U.S. Navy Surface Warfare Officer, Andrew holds a Masters of Science degree at the University of Southhampton and a Bachelors of Science from the U.S. Naval Academy. Andrew has 17 years of military and government consulting expertise, most notably in the command and control systems environment.
As Vice President, Command & Control Systems with Sentek Global, Andrew has been a key technologist supporting the adoption of new technologies within the Joint and Navy C2 environments. He has been engaged in the evolution of JC2 into the Net Enabled Command Capability and presently is 'dual-hatted' as the System Architect at the Global Command and Control System - Maritime Variant (GCCS-M) and within the Navy NECC Component Program Management Office (CPMO).
Prior to joining Sentek Global in 2002, Andrew was the Director of Client Services in the Government Practice division of Polexis. In that role, he assumed duties as GCCS-M System Architect. Significant achievements during this time include development and deployment of the tactical implementation tools supporting Task Force Web, the US Navy’s initial efforts to adopt web technologies, drafting of the initial Government Open Source license agreement, and widespread adoption of Open GIS Consortium standards for use in DoD C2 systems.
Andrew also served as a consultant with Booz Allen Hamilton where he spearheaded the successful development of the Joint Maritime Command Information System (JMCIS) 1998 Naval Training System Plan (NTSP), in support of the successful JMCIS ’98 Operational Test and associated adoption by the U.S. Navy.
