Marlene Duvall
Partner and President
The Veschi Group
Marlene Duvall is a highly successful business executive with over 30 years of experience with national and global corporations of all sizes from startups to Fortune 500.
Marlene practices what she believes, and recognizes that the key to profitability is clear business focus and direction, something that often gets lost in day-to-day politics and operations. Applying this philosophy, she has aligned entire organizations with customer needs to influence profitable outcomes. She has built results-driven business development, capture and proposal organizations for major corporations and small businesses, led efforts to repackage total solutions capabilities to answer today's business demands and successfully penetrated new customer environments for those organizations she has supported.
While Marlene's approach is organization-wide, her professional roots are in business development and strategic marketing. Marlene has built and led business development organizations and has worked with customers in industry and virtually every major civilian, defense and intelligence agency of the U.S Government. As Senior Vice President of Business Development for Nortel Government Solutions Defense Sector Services Group, she built a DOD focused business development organization and established processes to effectively qualify, capture and win new business. Prior to Nortel Government Solutions, Marlene acted as both consultant and senior executive at RDR, where she developed and implemented a strategic business plan geared toward energizing a "competitive" mindset and establishing strategic teaming arrangements to better ensure profitable growth and new business opportunities.
As an executive strategic business marketing leader, she has successfully launched products and organizations nationally and globally. Marlene successfully branded and positioned some of the largest industry newcomers as frontrunners in the Federal space including Wang/Getronics/Digitalnet and Martin Marietta/Lockheed Martin. At Lockheed Martin, she held increasingly responsible division and corporate leadership positions in marketing for 15 years, culminating with the appointment as senior executive for the $1.8 billion IT sector. Here she was responsible for building infrastructure, services portfolio, capture and pricing strategies as well as the program management of a commercially driven proposal center resourced to propel $150 million plus business opportunities.
Marlene holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and Mass Communications from Towson University, has attended executive leadership training at Emory University and serves on the advisory board of several emerging technology companies.
