Thomas H. Lang

Director of Intelligence and Training, Sentek Global

Thomas Lang holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geology from the University of North Carolina-Wilmington, and a Master of Science degree in Geology (micropaleontology) from Florida State University. As a graduate student he deployed on board the research vessel Glomar Challenger as a staff scientist. He served for 24 years in the U.S. Navy as an Intelligence Officer.

Tom has served in several instructor positions both in the academic and military arenas. He taught undergraduates in several Geology courses while on a Teaching and Research Assistantship at Florida State. While on active duty in the Navy, he served as an instructor at the Navy Fighter Weapons School (TOPGUN). He was also an instructor at the United States Pacific Command’s Joint Intelligence Training Activity where he earned the Master Training Specialist certification from the Naval Education and Training Command. He was also assigned as the Director of Training there, and became responsible for certifying a cadre of 22 instructors, and each of the courses those instructors taught. His instructor teams traveled the globe delivering training for nearly four years and to over 2,000 U.S. and allied students. He directed the fielding of an ambitious series of web-based training options. Those in turn allowed ship-based students and students assigned to austere locations to take and receive credit for multiple courses.

Before joining Sentek Global, Tom held various positions within the Navy and joint intelligence community including Assistant Chief of Staff for Intelligence at Naval Special Warfare Command and Assistant Chief of Staff for Intelligence at the U.S. Third Fleet. He has deployed all over the world in peacetime and during war and is the recipient of numerous personal, campaign, and service awards.
